Hi, I am currently building an Intranet site for an Educational
Establishment and would like to be able to open office do***ents with
Internet Explorer.

There are of course several solutions to this, but each seems to have it's
draw backs.

Methods:

a) Direct URL to do***ent. Problem, need to open templates as new
do***ents but this method opens them as a template to edit.

b) ActiveX control to open word with a URL but this opens a new word
application each time which is memory intensive.

c) Send do***ent as data stream to browser but can not control how
windows opens doc, same prob as 'a'.

Ideally I would like to be able to open the do***ent within IE as that seems
to use some slim line version of word & excel but need to be able to open
word templates as new do***ents.

Does any one know how to access this slim line version of word with activex
dll?

Any suggestions?
