Default Order Status Codes

Is there any specific reason to set the order status to numbers that are
powers of 2?
Will be really grateful if proper explanation is provided for the above
question?

It looked to us when we started digging in the code that it was initially
designed to be a bit mask field. However, it doesn't appear that the rest
of the code ever caught up to this architecture idea.

Hi,

The bit-mask flag is the reason why the power-of-2 requirement is there on
the Order Status field. I don't think that should affect your design though
since you can treat it as a blackbox.

Thanks,

The short answer is you can't. You must use, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, etc. Why do
you believe you must use 1, 2, 3, etc?
