Default OST - How does it work (in detail)

Not sure how to answer that - it syncs what you tell it to sync in Outlook.

Default OST - How does it work (in detail)

Sorry maybe I did not make my question clear. What I
meant to say is. What matching criteria is used to
identify whether a message is syncronised or not.
i.e. match on Message ID, date modified etc.

I am trying to look at the possibility of converting OST
files to PST files, importing them into another offline
mailbox then connecting to the mailbox (which will have
moved organisation).

We are trying to avoid the redownload of the complete OST
contents.

Thanks

Jacqui

to sync in Outlook.

All of those things, and I can't give you that level of detail, but I think
you're worrying needlessly.

1) Synchronize the mailbox to the OST
2) Move the mailbox however you're going to do it
3) Create a new OST file for the user once you've created a new mail
profile.

You won't be able to re-use the old OST file with the new mailbox or mail
profile anyway; it is entirely linked to the mailbox it was created for.

If you're moving a lot of people and need PST files to do so, run Exmerge
from the server to generate them.
