Default Problem Spoof Url



Hello

since i ve tried the exploit referenced at
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=833786, the icon near the adress bar has
dissapeared.

I have tried to re-install the SP1 of IE6 but with no success.

Somebody has any idea ?

Which exploit? I don't see one on that page. All I see is reference of how
to mislead someone but no exploits.

Indeed it s that but it is considered by microsoft as an exploit.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree because I do not think of spoofing
as an exploit and I went to that link, searched for the word exploit and it
returned 0 results.

In your original post you mentioned the icon, I assume on the address bar,
has disappeared. I'm not sure if you're aware but it is possible to modify
that icon and making it a blank white rectangle (square) could lead one to
believe it had disappeared but it is my belief that is unique per site,
possibly page.

The only icon I saw referenced on that article was the 'lock icon' which is
what you'd see when you're connected to a secure site:
ex. https:// (notice the s in the protocol). If you're on a secure page and
the 'lock icon' is not present, then that would be an issue.
