Default Problem with Policies in Windows XP Home

I have a problem with computer at home.

I keep getting a policy error when trying to install windows deffender.

I installed it on one computer, but this one has an issue.

I have the XP Home on both.

I know there is no Group Policy Snap-In for Home Edition, but I still get
the error.

The error says "The system administrator has set policies to prevent this
installation".

It only happens with some programs but not others and it don't matter if I
am in Safe Mode or not.

And yes.. I am logged in as the Administrator (In Safe Mode).. and Yes I
have an Administrator Account so when I need to install or make changes.

I always log in with a limited account as a saftey precausion but I don't
know.. I guess you can never be too safe.

Can anyone help me please..

If there is a registry entry I can check then perfect.. but I have not found
one online.

Thank you in advance,

Juan.

Hi - I think the naming convention here has confused you. There is no group
policy in XP Home. You should post in microsoft.public.windowsxp.general for
help with your issue, and also include more detail as to what happened since
you were last able to install anything - what antivirus/security software
you run / what malware you've recently cleaned up / etc
