Project Central Server 2000 on IIS 6.0
For security reasons, IIS6 only serves static files by default when
installed. No scripts/iishelp/msadc vdirs, nothing is allowed to execute,
like scripts, ISAPI, CGI, and static files lacking MIME Type are not
downloadable. In otherwords, very secure.
The secure configuration also intentionally breaks just about every existing
IIS application, which now require at least additional ********
re-configuration to have a chance to function. Usually, this is a straight
forward sequence of instructions.
So, the existing instructions you are following for Project Central Server
2000 is not sufficient for Windows Server 2003. I do not know which
existing products are certified to work on Windows Server 2003 (for example,
Exchange 2000 does not support Windows Server 2003) and what additional
steps are needed. I suggest either a search through KB or product support
call to find out this information.

I am trying to install Project Central Server 2000 onto a
Windows 2003 server with IIS 6.0. I have followed the
instructions as close to perfect as possible but am
getting an error message when trying to install it that I
do not have a MSADC Virtual Directory with this site or
that it is incorrectly configured. The congiguration
instructions are very clear and I have followed them very
closely but it still does not work.
First, is this app not compatible with this OS? Next, is
there something else that I need to be aware of?
Thank you,
Kevin Moore
