Default Public Folders email address with autoreply

We are currently using Exchange 5.5, but will be moving to
2003 shortly. As we currently understand it, you can not
have 2 mailboxes for one user in the active directory in
2003 as you can in 5.5, but use public folders with an
smtp address instead.

How do we set up an autoreply in a public folder so that
when people from outside our domain send emails to the
smtp address attached to the folder they get an autoreply
thanking them for writing?

One approach would be to use a Folder Assistant rule.

Are folder assistant rules what you set up with the rule
wizard? Can I use the rule wizard with a public folder?
I thought not.
