Default Questions about OEM software Licensing Requirement

Dear all,

I've acquired a SBS4.5 a few years ago and the server is PIII533. Later on
our company expands and the no. of users increases from 7 to about 30.

I want to replace the existing server with a more powerful machine. Since
the SBS4.5 is an OEM version, and I legally ligitimate to do this?

Practically yes, legally no, since OEM software is licenced to the hardware
on which it was originally installed.

Legally you cannot transfer OEM S/W off the Box it was initially installed
on,
although components of the box can be upgraded.

....but why nor wait a few weeks and go directly to SBS 2003 on the new Box ?

You could get a Release Code Preview and install it on the box for a
look/see
while you wait for the Gold version to ship. You'll be amazed, and pleased.
