Default reason why deploy image is very slow?

Using VSMT, I've captured the physical server images for physical server I'm
migrating to VS2k5. ADS captured the server's drives in a reasonable, timely
fashion (a little over 14MBps over 100Mbps links; can't ask for any better
than that).

The problem has been in the deployVM script. It's deploying the images (3
of them) *much* slower than the capture (over 8x's slower; like 1.7MBps).
VSMT and ADS are installed *on* the Virtual Server host. Since it is all
running on the same server so I would think it would be capable of running at
local-bus speeds and wouldn't even travel the network. The virtual server
host is on a Gbit segment, so even if it were hitting the network wire it
should still be faster than the capture, not slower.

Do I need to reconfigure something so that the new VM does it's PXE boot to
the ADS server (running on the VM's host server) on it's loopback address?
when I tried just connecting the new VM to that virtual switch
("InternalOnly"), it couldn't find the ADS server upon bootup.

Thanks for any direction you can offer

What is the hard drive configuration? When you have the systems on same
machine (using same physical drive) it might drag the performance down due
to simultaneous reads and writes to the same drive. IO is the issue if this
is the case.
