Default reconnect to the same session

Hi,

When a terminal server session disconnects and I logon again it start a new
session.
I use W2K servers and W2Kpro clients DSL connection with Sonicwall firewall.
Vigor Routers at the clients site to make a VPN connection to the firewall.
I don't want a new session, I want the same session. Is there anyway to
ensure that you always get the same session?

Kind regards
Michiel Boer

If your previous session is disconnected, you should get back the
disconnected session if you logon again with the same user/server.
Can you please verify if your previous session is actually disconnected or
logoff?
After you disconnect you session, open a command shell, type
qwinsta /server:Servername
where Servername is the TS server name.

I can get reconnected to the same session when I manualy disconnect from the
session.
It's when the VPN connection drops and because of that the TS session, I
can't reconnect to the same session.

So the terminal server is not recognizing the session was disconnected
because it was not a "clean" disconnect. You can fix this by configuring
Keep Alives. The following article should help:
