Renaming Computer Name in Domain

Due to a mistake I've made during the installation of
Windows 2000 Advance Server, I need to rename the computer
which is a domain controller. How do I achieve this?

You basically have to start over with your domain if it is the only DC. Run
dcpromo and demote it. Rename it a promote it back. With Server 2003 you
can rename domains "on the fly", but not with 2000
