Default repair "broken" ie7 ??

I have noticed at least 3 problems recently which all may be related to a
corrupted ie7 installation. Symptoms are: unable to enter text into the
message body portion of a mail client (which is probably an iteration of
Outlook Express), unable to enter text into text boxes displayed in IE7
browser, and third, unable to show login data from Roboform (a password
program). The Roboform support people there say that the error message from
that program indicates a 'broken' ie7.
The question is, what short of a complete reinstallation of XP can be done
to repair or check for the need of a repair to Internet Explorer.
