Default Replicate clustered file server to a server at a remote site

Good Day

We have a microsoft server 2003 R2 print file cluster and I need a
mechanism that will allow me to replicate the files to another file
server at a remote site.
I think I am looking for something like DFS but DFS is not cluster
aware.
I have been told I can break the cluster and set up DFS with one of
the nodes however that is not an ideal solution.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Why do you need it to be a cluster? Is there a reason that you can't use DFS
with replication?

FYI, Windows Server 2008 R2 provides full support for DFS and clustering.

We can use DFS without clustering. If I did this I would have to
recreate all the shortcuts on all the PCs that point to file shares
unless you can recommend a better mechanism.
How much work is involved in upgrading to 2008?

This cluster runs another application that we will want to replicate
to the remote site within 1 year which leads me to wonder if we should
be setting the foundation for this future project now. Any thoughts?

Many thanks

Is this remote site for disaster recovery purposes or do you plan on
writing to thew data at the remote site as well? If it is for
disaster recovery, you may consider using a 3rd party host based
replication product that can take you cluster data and replicate it to
a remote site. The remote site can be a 3rd node in your cluster or
just a stand alone server used solely for data protection. There are
a few solutions on the market, including the one from my company,
SteelEye DataKeeper. http://www.steeleye.com/products/windows/datakeeper.php
