Default Reports Fail

Receive the following error message for every report:

Reporting Services Error
An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
Cannot create a connection to data source 'SCDW'. (rsErrorOpeningConnection)
Cannot open database requested in login 'SystemCenterReporting'. Login
fails. Login failed for user 'DOMAINX\MOM_RDR'.

MOM_RDR is the reporting user account established for MOM reporting with the
MOM reporting set-up application during installation. SCDW Data Source
reflects this account and has the correct password.

The reporting database resides upon a SQL cluster. SQL Reporting service is
on a separate server platform. All network operating systems are Windows
Server 2003 SP1. SQL is SQL Server 2000 SP3a. Reporting Services are SQL
Reporting Services 2000 SP1. SQL and Reporting Services, which support other
apps, existed before MOM.

Any assistance appreciated. Thanks. msfba

every subfolder on the reporting server has its own scdw. Check if you have
changed another scdw apart from the top-level.

Happy New Year

Thanks for the tip but no, there was no change from the top-level and the
issue persists. Any other suggestions still welcome. Thanks. msfba

I would check your SQL Server security. Make sure that the reporting account
has appropriate permissions within the database.

Sounds reasonable and I want to pursue. But just what are the required
permissions? The MOM do***entation, including the Security Guide, is rather
vague.

Thanks. msfba
