Default Services.msc window shuts down immediately??

When I run "services.msc", a window pops up and then immediately shuts down
again before I can do anything. Symantec has advised me to double click on
the "Event Log" and set the Start up to "Automatic". I can't do this as it
won't stay open long enough. Can anyone tell me how to do this or how I can
get the window to stay up long enought to do it myself? Thanks...

1) Update your Anti Virus. Make sure it succeeds.
2) Boot to Safe Mode.
3) Run a full system scan.

Hi Blades; thanks for the reply. I can't update my AntiVirus as this is what
I am trying to install and Symantec tells me that I have to set the Event Log
to Automatic to resolve the problem of not being able to install the
AntiVirus. I have ran the "Windows Live OneCare" and repaired the problems
that it found.

1) Run cmd.exe
2) Paste this into the Command Prompt: sc config eventlog start= auto
3) You should see: [SC] ChangeServiceConfig SUCCESS
If so, you won't have to worry about getting services.msc up. If not,
let us know.
