Does share point service 3.0 supports Active Directory mode installation?

I'm confused. An hour earlier you asked in .portalserver how to install 3.0
inActive Directory mode.

Now you're asking in this newsgroup if it's at all possible ....

i asked as i saw in some websites that "share point service 3.0 does not
supports Active Directory mode installation" so i wanted a confirmation, so
kindly revert back with some proper solutions.
