Hi All

Hope some one can help

I have now got our email growing out with the correct domain i.e..
@atlantic......com

But every time I try to correct the user's email address sbs resets the SMTP
to the users logon name after a reboot i.e..

brian@atlantic.....com comes out as BrianBigg-Wither@atlantic.........com

Hi All

Hope some one can help me.

I have changed the SMTP address to the email address of our web domain & set
to primary in user list under server administrator console but every time
the users send out email the email address on the recipient machine come up
as the local domain?.

I.a. brian@breeze???????.com comes out as Brian@Breeze???????.local

If any one can help I would be over the moon.........

Hi,

Several ways of achieving this:

In AD Users and Computer, inside the properties tab (e-mail addresses) for
the user where you are adding the desired SMTP address and making it a
default, you can uncheck the option to "Automatically update the e-mail
addresses based on the recipient policy" (at the bottom). By setting that
option off, Exchange will no longer automatically control those e-mail
addresses.

The other method (maybe easier), is to go to the Exchange General tab (also
in AD Users and Computers, properties of the desired User), and set the
"Alias" to whatever you want the user portion of the email address to be (do
not include the domain here, just the alias).

The third option is to change the way Exchange generates the addresses by
following the instructions on the following article:
