I create a new SMS2003 package, the source files are
located on the other server. (using network path for the
data source)

When I check package status messages, I got the error
that "access is denied" to the source \\server\source.

Which SMS service account should I grant access rights to
the share? Does this account need to have logon rights on
that server?

If you are using advanced security, the machine account for the SMS site
server needs rights to the package source. If you are using standard
security, the SMS Service account is used.
