I asked this question on the main server NG and have seen no replies. Maybe
someone will answer here?

Hi,

In SQL2000 we would only install the Client Tools on a workstation. With
SSIS as a new standalone service should we be installing SSIS on Client
workstations as well as the Client Tools? Are there any other components
that should go on the client workstation too?

Hey Chris,
No not really. I'm guessing developers would have a dev box
to run packages against anyway? You get to the SSIS package
designer via Business Intelligence Development Studio so for
SSIS work or maintenance plans, Business Intelligence
Development Studio would need to be installed - but SSIS
doesn't need to be on the client. BID is part of the
Workstation Tools and Components options.
