Static or Dynamic IP

I'm getting ready to install MOM 2005 for the first time in order to evaluate
it with just a handful of clients. Does it matter if I setup the MOM server
with a dynamic ip address or does it need to be static?

All servers should always use static IPs

Thank you for your opinion but statics are not necessary all of the time and
in this case I'm evaluating MOM and would not like to go through the
political headache of requesting a static ip. What I'm asking is there
anything within MOM that requires communication between the agent and the
server utilizing IP address or does it always communicate through the domain
name?
