Default Sync through a firewall

I have been handed an app center configuration to maintain and we have been
give a change request to add some additional functionality. So I appologize
if this question is too simple I have done some simple internet searches and
minor reading (lots more to do here) and have not found an answer.

All machines are running win2k adv server sp4 and AC2k sp2.

We currently have four web servers setup in an AC cluster in our DMZ that is
used by our external web site users and our internal web site users. To
update content we ftp files to the cluster controler and it then replicates
the files to the other three web servers. We also have a cisco solution to
do our network load balancing not windows nlb. I was not part of that
design and would also like to hear pros and cons on that issues but that is
probably a separate post.

The new functionality is adding a second cluster on the intranet for our
internal web users. This web site would look identical to the external web
sites except it would sit inside of our network and not in the DMZ. We
would like to change the flow of information to ftp or copy new files to a
cluster controller on the inside and have this machine replicate to the
second internal web server and also either to all of the external web
servers or to one external web server (external cluster controller) which
would then replicate to the other three web servers.

Hope this is clear....thanks in advance for your help.

I will be happy to provide additional information if needed.
