Corina,
Version information always helps, but until then....This is a long shot, but
is it possible that when you paste the text is getting sent to the back? If
you right click on the boxes in Publisher, can you send them to back and see
the text?

As a work around, can you paste the org chart into a graphics program, save
it as a jpg (or whatever) and then pull that into publisher?
