Default Web Console help

Perhaps this is the cause of my problem.

I have a small test network running MOM 2005 SP1, Enterprise Edition. The
database server is running on a Windows 2003 Small Business Server/Domain
Controller. The MOM Administration console is running on another Windows 2003
server, and I have installed a MOM Agent on a third system running Windows
2000 Server. All servers are up to date on service packs and patches, and so
far the alerts and monitoring are working fine.

When I try to access the web console, even from the local console system, I
am given a login prompt, but mo matter what I put in there, I am given a 403
- Forbidden page. There were no accounts under MOM Administators, and the
only account under MOM Users was momdas.

Here's what I have tried:

- adding my domain account to MOM Administrators and MOM Users
- adding the domain ASPNET, IUSR and IWAM accounts to MOM Users
- created a local account and added it to MOM Administrators and MOM users

I was not able to find this particular problem in the Knowledge Base
(perhaps I am just not searching under the right keywords?), nor could I find
any mention of it in the Admin Guide. There are no local firewalls running on
any of the systems.

Where do I start?

Glenn

Default Web Console help

I resolved this issue I was having.
The resolution lies in the local groups utilized by MOM. The group that was
causing the problem was the “Distributed com usersâ€. Basically all MOM users
need to be members of this Local group.

Thanks for the suggestion, but when I added my account to the Local
Distributed COM Users group, nothing changed. I still get the 403 - Forbidden
page as soon as I log in. I also tried adding the IUSR and IWAM accounts, no
change.
