Since a few days at start-up I receive an error message saying
WINDOWS Windows cannot open this file File: BigFix.Ink.disabled And when I click "Use the Web service to find the appropriate program", up comes www.pctools.com and offers a check of the registry for free. I did run the check and the program said it found 798 errors, which I feel is ridiculous,.and then PCtools offers to download the "latest version of Registry Mechanic" for sme money. A "computer specialist" had installed Registry Mechanic on my computer about a year ago, because he said it is necessary. I removed both bigFix and Registry mechanic from the computer, using the appropriate programm from the Control Panel. And I later also deleted the file-folder of BigFix from my Program Files, which had still been there after having removed the program. But the error message message keeps coming up every time at start-up. How can I get rid of this nuisance? Regards, Alex |

Download Autoruns: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/Autoruns.html
Extract it, run it. Look for the entry that matches BigFix.lnk.disabled or similar and uncheck it. Restart your computer. -Dan |
