Default Configuring a notification to fire when X alerts fire within Y min

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've been searching the net for
three days now and haven't been able to find a way to do what I'm trying to
do.

I have a custom alert that fires when a certain event is logged. There is
no problem with, say, 5 events occurring within, say, 5 minutes, but if these
events occur more frequently, there's a problem. What I want to do is set up
a rule that will send a notification when more than 5 alerts fire within 5
minutes. Does anyone know if this is possible?

TIA,

T.

You do this with a combination of 2 rules. The first is a event
consolidation rule that consolidates the events during a certain time period
(5 minutes in your example) Then create a normal event rule with the same
criteria, except add a "Repeat Count" criteria to say how often the event
needs to fire to have an alert thrown.
