SQL Server 2005 Report Server Service Discovery Failing
MOM is reporting that SQL Server 2005 Report Server Service Discovery is
failing. However, the target server has SQL Server 2000 installed, not SQL
Server 2005. This is a mixed environment with mostly SQL 2000, but some SQL
2005.
Apparently, the SQL 2005 MP is not smart enough to know that it's looking at
a 2000 instance? Should the SQL Server instances be segregated into computer
groups based on the SQL Server version?
I have confirmed that WMI is installed and the service is running. The MOM
Agent service account is running with least privileges, as described in the
SQL Server 2005 MP Guide. Target OS is Windows 2003 with SP1.
Has anyone else seen or resolved this error?
