Default Merge Two Data Warehouses

We have a configuration where clients are reporting to two different
Management Groups - one is production and one is development
We had an issue with the production database and lost all the alerts,
events, etc from all clients for a period of about 4 weeks. The dev database
received all mom events just fine.
We want to understand if it is possible and how to take the data out of the
development reporting data warehouse and import it to the production data
warehouse, just for the date period during the issue with the production
database.

As far as I have been able to tell, this could difficult as for example, the
data imported via the DTS job from OnePoint to the Reporting Database will
update rows for the Dimensions tables. Unless we know which rows to update
or not copy, we could/would get duplicate data.

I would appreciate any thoughts and ideas you all might have on how to
possible resolve this issue.

Thanks

Hi

Your management groups OnePoint database have presumably already groomed
this data as it only store data for four days.
Are you management groups the same? Then the reporting database should be
equal too, and you should be enable to
copy the database. Which database are you meaning? OnePoint or
SystemCenterReporting?

Thanks for the response
Yes, I am referring to the SystemCenter Reporting database

My concern with simply copying the DEV database to the Production database
is the old data - i would like just the time period that was lost in the
production database.

I guess if I could get all records from the first outage on Producution from
the DEV box, that would probably cover things

Thanks
