weird CONTROL PANEL problem

Hi all;

WinXP Pro.

Sometime in the recent past, the POWER MANAGEMENT and SYSTEM icons under the
"Performance and Maintenance" category disappeared from my Control Panel.

I can still access these features by switching to "Classic View".

What the heck is going on?
