From the days of Outlook 97 I have been using my own contact form MyContacts
which was identical to Contacts form except that I had made it to
"Automatically record journal entries for this contact" by clicking the
Journal tab and clicking the appropriate box.

I am now using Outlook 2003 and seem to have lost this form. I have tried
re-designing the form again as MyContacts, which has become the default
entry form, but cannot find anywhere to make "Automatically record journal
entries for this contact" happen.

Where has it gone??

If you explained how you upgraded to Outlook 2003, we might be able to figure out how you "lost" this form.

Again, we need details if you're going to be able to recover the form. Exactly what did you restore from backup? Did you create a new mail profile or were you able to use one from the backup?

If you can't recover it, try this: Add a checkbox to the form page. Bring up the Properties dialog for the control, switch to the Value tab, and choose Journal as the field bound to that control.

That I cannot answer - I simply imported the backed up pst file after
re-installing Office 2003.

I have re-designigned the MyContacts form with Journal "Yes/No" defaulting
to "Yes". This seems fine when I enter a new contact.

Many thanks - my problem has I think been that the method of achieving this
has changed since Outlook 97, or else I have forgotten exactly how I managed
it then.
