Yes, exactly. Just as you can create a macro in Word that automates Excel, or a macro in Excel that automates Word, you can also create a macro in either of those programs that automates Outlook. You use CreateObject("Outlook.Application") to instantiate an Outlook.Application object, then derive other Outlook objects from that.
