Default rm files (realaudio) working on pc but not on Ipaq

Can anybody help me on this one?
I have RealOne installed on both my Desktop and my PPC (Ipaq 6365 (6315
in the US)) with WM2003.
On my PPC I have the same problem with both versions:

RealOnePlayerppc.exe
RealOnePlayerPPC11PR.exe (beta)
http://software-dl.real.com/074f5cf811615de7cf00/windows/RealOnePlayerppc.exe
http://software-dl.real.com/074f5cf811615de7cf00/windows/RealOnePlayerPPC11PR.exe

The problem does NOT concern streaming but LOCAL RM files:

I have many .RM files downloaded (with hidownload) from a French radio
website. All of them work perfectly on my desktop RealOne player.
Now half of those same files do not work on my Ipaq RealOne player.
RealOne displays "loading" for ever and nothing happens. This is
not random; working files always work properly and those who don't
will never work.

Thanks for your patience.

There are several different audio codecs that can be used in realmedia
files, so at a guess I'd say that the Pocket PC player probably isn't
compatible with all of them. I don't use Real stuff myself, but see if
the desktop player will tell you what codec is actually used in the
working/non-working files, that may shed some light.

It doesn't matter which format you choose you need to encode your videos
into a format using a codec (coder-decoder) which is supported by whatever
player you use. You see similar problems on a PC too- until you find the
right codec. There are lots of sites for lots of codec's for the PC, but the
ppc isn't as common and is a smaller screen so there aren't as many written.
Your best choice is to re-encode your videos using a supported codec.

Thanks but:
1) codecs are the same because the source is the same.
2) those are AUDIO ONLY files.

I am not able to explain why half of those files do not work on the
PPC while they do on the PC.

Here are the "clip properties" given by Windows's Realone Player
(version 2 build 6.0.11.864) of a file working fine on the Ipaq.

Now, the same properties of a file not working on the Pocket PC:

The only difference is the lower Buffer Time value, right? So is there
a limitation of the RealOne PPC version concerning Buffer values?

The codec's have the same purpose but aren't the same- the hardware and OS

I am sorry Alan but are you trying to help my case here??? I don't even
understand your sentence. I have been accurate, isn't it? Codec is not
the issue...

If *you* say the codec is not the issue I won't post further. I disagree,
and think it may be the issue.

Mick did post the codec info displayed by desktop RealPlayer, and
either the codec is the same between the working and not working
files, or realplayer is misreporting the codec.

I don't know what the problem is, but personally I'd convert the files
to mp3 and be done with it. The Pocket realplayer is distinctly
half-baked, and whatever the problem is with these files, you probably
can't do anything about it except to re-encode the files anyway.

Ok, I beg your pardon Alan. Thing is, I took the time to be accurate
and build a good description of the facts and observations because I
have put myself in your position, you the guy who can bring some
expertise or some ideas, and you, you just throw me 3 lines saying
something I still don't really understand except the fact that yes,
codec do have different codes on a PPC and on a PC. You didn't even
comment the stuff I had just added. And if you are right, what codec
should i test, how do i tweak a codec on the ipaq? There seem to be
nothing in the registry.

And Tony, you are right; of course converting is already what I am
doing for 6 month now. It's just so stupid to have a 300 dollars Ipaq
with Realplayer running and loose time and memory card volume on
mp3s...

Thank you all for your patience, I will make some last investigations
with Realproducer.
