Default .wma encoded with 9 voice not playing 9 series mobile player

Hey, Everyone -

I'm trying to play some live and on demand content I encoded using WM 9
voice codec, but it refuses to play saying it doesn't have the codec. The
device is a recent iPaq (don't have the model number, sorry) with Media
Player 9.

The player streams standard WM9 audio like a champ and I was delighted to
see it stream my 300K video FLAWLESSLY (so geeked up about it). It seems odd
to me that I can do that, but I can't decode the simplest voice only content.
I can see the Mobile WM10 play has the voice codec, but can't find info on
the 9 series mobile player.

Is there anyway to download this codec to the 9 series player? Any idea why
this codec was left out? What is the preferred voice codec for this player?

Thanks, everyone!

For 9 series on PPC and Smartphone, according to this page
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/codecs/compatibility.aspx
you should have no problem playing content encoded using the voice
codec : I've got a 2.5 hour french course I encoded in WMA9-Voice so
it would fit on a 32 meg SD card ;-)

I'd examine the fiole more closely to ensure you've used the codec you
think you have to encode it. How did you set up the encode profile ?

No codec downloads are available for PPCs as far as I'm aware.
