Normally as SMS can be up to 160 characters. But if I am typing an SMS and I
allow the autocorrect to fix something, example cant -> can't, suddenly I am
only allowed 70 characters. What's going on?

You are probably using UTF-8 (Unicode), and then the use of the ' changes
all the message to double-byte. I have the same with Hebrew, when I write
English it is 160, when I write Hebrew it is 70.

When I enter the ' myself it is okay. When autocorrect enters it, it uses a
different ' character, one that is slanted to the left. This is the one
causing trouble. When I go back an replace it with the normal ', the SMS
reverts to 160. Anyway to tell the autocorrect not to use a unicode
character?
