Default Connecting to the Internet on an AV6600 and holding the it open.

I have built a game built where two PDAs play by exchanging moves through a
server with a staic IP.
This works fine.
The problem is that on some of my test devices need to make a psedo modem
connection (one is an AV6600 on Sprint).

I need to do what Internet Explorer does, dial and then keep the connection
open.

For testing, I bring up pocket IE, tell it to access a page and it dials.
I then I have 10 minutes of testing before the connection shuts down,
unless I go to IE and make it do something (go to another site,
refresh...)

What I really need to do is find out the Connection to use (Work, Internet...)
and, connect to it and then keep the connection open.

I am wondering what IE does to find the network info,
what it does to connect and then
what it does to keep the connection open (flag, timer somewhere?)

I am using the Windows Mobile 2003 SDK.

Thanks.
