Default 2GB SD Card

Whenever I format my SD Card in my Canon SD630 it will format the card so
that all 2GBs can be used. When I try to read the card through my laptop, a
window will pop up and tell me that the card is not formatted and then it
will ask me if I want to format the card. When I say yes to the question it
will only format the card to 980Mb of the card. Why am I not able to format
all 2GBs of the card in FAT32

It is very likely that your SD Card reader cannot handle 2 gig SD cards.
You'll either have to check to see if there is an updated driver for the
reader that can handle 2 gig SD cards, alternatively, you'll need to get a
new SD card reader or connect the camera to your computer via the USB cord.
