Default Force client to get updates from WSUS

Is there a way to force a client to get its updates from our WSUS server
rather than through the WEB in Internet Explorer - Tools - Windows Update?

Since we are using a WSUS server in our environment, I'm looking for a way
to force a client to get its updates from the WSUS server on demand? This is
particularly helpful when configuring a new machine. I know it can be
scheduled at a certain time, but is there a way to force it to get the
updates from the WSUS server?

Well, first, I'd suggest reading the associated WSUS do***entation
(Deployment Guide) which contains all the information you need for properly
configuring your environment to properly configure a client to use WSUS.

Then, if you have a /specific/ question, or something is not working the way
you expected it to work, we'll be happy to help you.

My specific question is:

When we install a new machine with Windows XP, can we force it to get all
the Windows updates from our WSUS on demand rather than wait for the
scheduled update time which occurs at night?

Yes. See this article for a demonstration of a process I developed and
tested to do exactly this process:

How long does it take to fully update a Windows XP SP1 system?
