Hi all, I hope some one has an answer or fix for me on this one. There is no
help anywhere for this. The only fix I get suggests every snap in except
local users and groups. I have no problem with any other snap-in. I dont
want to re-install. There must be a registry fix somewhere out there.
Well… I get snap-in failed to initailize when i try to open Local users
and Groups. It gives the clsid: 5D6179C8-17EC-11D1-9AA9-00C04FD8FE93. Please
do not suggest the fix that is available for the other snap-ins cause it
doesn’t help. If you can answer this responsibly then do so. If not then do
not leave a reply. I wouldn’t want to waste your time. Thank you

Try “regsvr32 localsec.dll” or “regsvr32
If it works, everything should be OK now.
If it fails (most likely), get depends.exe (a tool that is part of Visual
Studio and Microsoft SDK) and use it to check which required dll(s) is/are
missing. Then look for this dll (most likely it is somewhere on your
computer) and copy it to the path where localsec.dll is.
