Is the node to which the SAN is connected called the Active Node? As, I have
Server A (Windows 2000 Advanced Server) & Server B (Windows 2000 Advanced
Server B is where the SAN is connected to. So, I thought I would evict Node
A from the cluster, replace my HBA from the old server to the new server,
configure my HBA to point to the SAN location, install cluster and join it
to the existing Cluster. Will this be a good idea?
thanks in advance

In a cluster, both nodes have physical paths to the SAN. That’s why its
called shared storage. If you have a node without a connection to the shared
storage, it can not come online as a cluster node.
If you open cluster administrator does it show 2 nodes online?
Hope It Helps!

If all of your resources are showing online on your Node B then yes that
would be your Active Node so to speak. You should have no issue evicting
Node A, moving your HBA over, configuring the new server and then joining it
to Node B.
