Default Windows XP: Possible virus problem.

I may have a virus problem. The symptoms are as follows. I've been using PC
tools Spyware doctor and just yesterday it was doing it's normal scan and
came across this Transponder.bolger or something like that. After dection it
said it had to reboot windows because the files(s) it needed to remove were
in memory and it coouldn't remove them in their current state. Anyway, I
rebooted and logged in under my username and the only thing that opens is My
Do***ents under Windows Explorer.

I'm not exactly sure what happened, whether a virus changed my defualt
windows shell or what.

I'm running windows XP pro with the latest updates including SrvPck 2.

Any suggestions before I rebuild would be greatly appreciated. I would like
to avoid rebuilding and starting over if I can.

Hi,

Try running spybot S&D
adware 6 and try AVG anti-virus(Its free & really good)

It looks like a spyware problem.
