License Server Problem
I'm running Terminal Server 2003 and have a Terminal Server License server
running on a seperate Windows 2003 Server.
I'm having a problem with client PC's that believe their Terminal Server CAL
is about to expire.
I am using TS USER CALs, so the license server does not monitor them, but it
seems to be doling out temporary licenses to all of my machines. The TS
USER CALs are showing in the licesne server and have been activated
successfully.
All of the above is background for this piece of information, which I
suspect is causing, at least part of, the problem.
When I launch Terminal Server Licensing server on the machine that hosts it,
I get a message that says "No Terminal Server license server is available in
the current domain or workgroup. To connect to another license server,
click Action, click Connect, and then type the server name"
When I do the steps listed, and type in the name of the server that is
hosting it (which is the server that I'm on) it shows the TS License server
and all of its licenses.
I'm not sure why I would need to "kick-start" the license server in this
way, and I'm wondering if the cause of this might also be the cause of my
client machines not updating their licenses correctly.
Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
