This is wat my requirement is.. when i put this command i get the below
message. where the ones which are marked in down is nomore needed and i
would like to get it removed...the ones which are displayed after a
linebreakers are fine

This is expected behavior - the entries will remain for the directory's
lifetime. There is no realistic means or reason to remove them.
