I am running Office 2000 Professional on windows XP professional running on a
Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook C series.

I am often findng that when opening excel and word files and trying to save
changes, the document is found to be 'read only' and hence changes cannot be
saved unless the file name is changed. This is happending quite often and I
am not changing the properties of the files in question.

Has anyone encountered this problem?
