Default deleting any file in windows 2000 a very long time.

It takes literally 15-30 secs to delete a file in Windows
2000. Even small text files. I have a 20 GB hard disk with
atleast 10 GB free space. Some of my colleagues using
windows 2000 also have the same problem.

Why does this happen? Is there a way to fix this?

thanks
AK

There is nothing in Windows 2000 that could cause this. I suspect
that either you have an antivirus program running that might be
taking too long, or you hae a virus.
