What folders are these for

I've noticed these folders are located on my Windows 2000
machine. They are

$NtServicePackuninstall$
$NtUninstallKB817606$

There are others, but can these be deleted? What are they?
It looks like there Microsoft Updates, but really don't
know wheather to delete these or not.

These are folders for uninstall information for the Hotfixes that have been installed. Either individually by you or through some other upgrade you have installed. Sometimes a Service Pack install can remove them. That is the only time I would remove them. If a Service Pack install included those hotfixes. Then you can get rid of them. They aren't functional anyway.

If they are still current on your system I would not touch them. Sure they are ugly but they take up little room and the benefits of keeping them far outweigh their nusuiance value.
