Default GPO: Detail Folder View with Policy

Is it possible to set a group policy to set the folder view for the explorer
to "Detail".
I searched the internet but no one can tell me if this is really possible.

Kind Regards,

Joris

Howdy Joris!

This is not possible in native Group Policy. You will have to create a
custom user profile, set the explorer view to "Detail" and roll the
profile out to the users.

If you are comfortable with a logon-script solution you might want to
have a look at the .reg-files Mark Heitbrink provides on his site. You
can copy the .reg-files to a network location and create a startup
script with the command "regedit /s \\server\share\file.reg".

See
http://www.gruppenrichtlinien.de/index.html?/HowTo/Ansicht_im_Explorer_auf_Details_umstellen.htm
[german!] at the bottom of the page. The .reg-files for Windows 2000, XP
and Windows Server are located there.

cheers,

Florian
