Lost Sound After W2K Professional Upgrade

I updated my OS from ME to Windows 2000 Professional,
following which I lost my sound. It appears that my
playback devices are not recognized. Does anyone know of a
compatibility issue here?

You have to download the Windows 2000 drivers for your sound card.
