I have a Win2003 VPN server that was working just fine, until I moved it to
a new location. I changed the IP address from 199.227.61.198 to 67.16.84.14. Both old and new are directly behind routers, no firewall in between them and the net. When I try to VPN to 67.16.84.14, I see packets to the old address. I've found and done the kbase entry that refers to setting the WAN Miniport interface to "ValidateAddress", rebooted, and it still happens. I've also verified that the DNS entry pointing to the new address is correct, and tried connecting to the VPN by IP address just to be sure. Using a different server, I did a capture of a successfull VPN connection from the server's point of view. That looks like this: http://home.dlwest.com/good.jpg. Then I ran a capture on the broken server, which looks like this: http://home.dlwest.com/bad.jpg The client in both cases in 68.35.159.62. Can anybody tell me what RRAS is looking at to get this "old" address? I've even searched the registries on both client and server looking for it, to no avail. PS: Would appreciate if replies could cc to email nntp -at- deskoptional.com as well. |
