Default Log file for joining a domain

If you have auditing enabled, this should be present in the event log on

I am not aware of any such logs.

But, in windows 2000 domain _any_ user (not only e.g. domain admin!!!) that
can authenticate to domain can join up to 10 Workstations to domain.

The DC's event log will show domain changes, though I think you need

Auditing "Account Management" success events will log an event for the
creation of the machine account, or machine account password reset.
