I have installed critical update 818529 ("***ulative Patch
for Internet Explorer 6 SP1") many times. The result
is "Successful" each time (as confirmed by viewing the
installation history). However, the update is somehow
lost after rebooting my computer--at least Windows Update
thinks so. Either automatic update retrieves it yet
again, or if I go to Windows Update myself, it shows up
again as a Critical Update.

All other Windows 2000 Critical Updates have been
installed on this machine without problem.

Any suggestions for helping me to get out of this endless
cycle will be greatly appreciated!
