An "Autorun.inf" can do that...

"START button, Find, F/F, Autorun.inf".

If one shows up on a root directory, for instance C:\, then
rename/delete it. It does not belong there.

| Hello All,
| I have a win 98SE pc fully patched, but for some reason after the
windows
| login screen comes up, calc.exe starts. I have looked in the startup
group,
| autoexec, and dosstart.bat files, and all registry keys dealing with
loading
| apps, even searched the registry for "calc.exe".
| Anyone have any idea why this is happening, and how to fix it.
|
| Thanks for any help

Go to Start/Programs/Startup. If calculator is there move
out by dragging. Put it back in Accessories. It may not
show up in the Msconfig startup list. It could have been
moved by mistake in the Program list from the Start button.
